Anyone on here travelled Australia on a WHV? ( Working Holiday Visa) What was the experience like?
Looking at going out there September/October time next year with my partner.

Take plenty of wedge....that's why there are so many of the fuckers over here, and why go with a partner? 99% guaranteed to end in tears...but depends on whether you are 2 women, 2 blokes or an unsure bloke with a girl etc. etc.
If you have to ask on here whether to go or not you're a bit of a limp wristed wimp really and are a bit fucking stupid....Maybe go ask mummy while sucking your thumb!!

I went on my own but every person i met who left home as a couple went back single or with somebody else.

Got back just over a month ago from spending a year down under. Went to a meet with the Sydney hammers and worked in the bar that he Melbourne hammers drank and watched the games at.
It's a lot of fun and I definitely recommend you doing it, problem is is that you will want to stay out there for good. Australia is the dogs bollocks! Can't wait to go back.

Do it for as long as possible, they extended it to 2 years after I came back damn it. Do as much as you can to take your mind off blighty because you'll probably be back.

I left the UK in April this year, left my girlfriend back home jntending to stay together and for her to come meet me in November. We split up and now I'm with a gorgeous Canadian girl living in Byron Bay. Doesn't get much better in my opinion.
Do it, be open minded, take every opportunity that comes your way. Its changed my life completely and I have no idea what I was thinking coming out here with a girlfriend back home. Keep it simple lad

In terms of the experience its incredible. I hated the hostels so very quickly relocated to Byron bay and rented a room. Now I'm immersed in the local culture, part of the community and its awesome.
If you want to do the backpacker gig then I recommend you hire a camper and do it that way, there are some proper loose cunts in the hostels and you won't wanna drag your partner around through that.
It can be expensive so be mindful. You'll pay around $6-7 for a schooner which is somewhere between a half and a pint. The beer is pretty good though, my recommendation is stone and wood Pacific Ale. (Thank me later). The exchange rate is super for us though so its a good time to come over.

Came out here with 8 mates back in 2000 for a year on a WHV. Best year of my life. Met an Aussie bird, married her and now i'm living here.
Best time was leaving Sydney during the Olympics (too expensive) and heading up the East Coast.

Its how i ended up living here!
Came for 12 months, worked, traveled, shagged and loved it, got back to the UK and thought fucks this, 6 months later had a permanent resident Visa.
More than a few working holiday makers end up staying,
Trust me, you will have a great time, even if your happy to go back at the end of it, its also very geared up for working holiday makers/backpackers, so were ever you go you will have no problem with budget accommodation, getting work and having a good time.

I did a year on a working visa and had a fantastic time. I landed in Perth and ended up staying in Freemantle for Three months.
Did two months grape picking in Margaret River then bought a camper van and followed the coast road to Broome where I worked for pearling company for three months. I had saved enough money to travel to adarwin and the across to the Aeast coast eventually ending up working in Sydney.
I found work easy to get but as others have said it is expensive to travel about and good luck going with your partner you'll need it.
